Brand Revitalization

It is really funny how God works.

Earlier this fall I had picked up a book from the Christian Bookstore called “Radical” by David Platt. (seriously is a MUST read) I finally finished the book last night. “Radical” is one of those books that you find so interesting and intriguing that you want to hurry and read it all right then but at the same time you keep telling yourself to slow down so you can fully experience what David was trying to express to us.

God is good.

Less than an hour ago I was in a YMCA, or now The Y, brand revitalization class to inform all those who work at The Y just what is happening to our brand name. I know from my marketing major that revitalizing your brand name can help your consumers feel more comfortable with your company.  So, I was sitting there and we were talking about our tag lines and then talking about our new benefit lines that will coincide with our tag line for each of the departments.

God is good.

Now, you might wonder how these two very different events in my life work together. In the book “Radical” David urges you and even dares you to radically abandon the notion of the American Dream and start living the gospel in every day life. I am in need of that brand revitalization.

God is good.

I buy things that I do not need; I am in need of brand revitalization. I do not bring the gospel into conversation with the people I go to work with or that I go to school with; I am in need of brand revitalization. I am scared of what my life would look like to radically abandon the American Dream; I am in need of brand revitalization. I feel sometimes awkward expressing what God is doing in my life; I am in need of brand revitalization.

God is good.

The New Year is approaching, what a perfect opportunity it is to radically abandon and revitalize my life. I am going to take on the dare. I am taking up the cross and following the God that is worthy of my time, money, and life.

God is good.

Starting off.

I have recently found great comfort in God and His presence in my life. It has been said many times in the bible that when you call on God He hears you and He will rescue you.

Through this blog I want to bring pure joy back to life. I want to be able to look back at this blog and see growth and just a difference in who I am right this minute and who I will be a couple months from now or even a year from now.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
